Cellcom Partners with Village of Egg Harbor
Launches Public Wi-Fi in Downtown Area
October 15, 2024 – Cellcom is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Village of Egg Harbor to provide public Wi-Fi in the downtown area, launched last week just in time for this past weekend’s annual Pumpkin Patch Festival. This exciting collaboration aims to enhance the experience for residents and visitors alike by offering seamless internet connectivity throughout the bustling downtown district.
The introduction of public Wi-Fi in Egg Harbor’s downtown area marks a significant milestone in Cellcom’s commitment to fostering community engagement and connectivity. This initiative will provide numerous benefits, including:
- Enhanced Visitor Experience: Visitors can now easily access information about local attractions, events, and businesses, making their stay in Egg Harbor more enjoyable and convenient.
- Support for Local Businesses: Public Wi-Fi will enable local businesses to engage with customers more effectively, offering promotions, updates, and services in real-time.
- Community Connectivity: Residents and visitors can stay connected with family and friends, share their experiences on social media, and access essential services online.
- Event Accessibility: With the Pumpkin Patch Festival and additional events held year-round, attendees will benefit from reliable internet access to share their festive moments while staying informed about event schedules and activities.
“Understanding that reliable connectivity is an ongoing challenge within Door County, the Village of Egg Harbor is thrilled to partner with Nsight to provide free public Wi-Fi in our downtown business corridor. The free public Wi-Fi network will provide our visitors and residents easy access to the internet while on the go, experiencing all of the fantastic venues downtown Egg Harbor has to offer,” said Megan Sawyer, Village Administrator for the Village of Egg Harbor.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with the Village of Egg Harbor to bring public Wi-Fi to the heart of the community,” said Rick Brooks, Chief Technology Officer at Nsight, parent company of Cellcom. “This initiative reflects our dedication to enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing essential connectivity. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this service will have, especially as Egg Harbor gears up for more visitors and events in the future.”
As we celebrate this new chapter of connectivity in Egg Harbor, we remain committed to exploring further opportunities to support and uplift our communities. The public Wi-Fi initiative is just one example of how Cellcom strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Investment for this project was a combination of funding from Cellcom, the Village of Egg Harbor, Egg Harbor Business Association, County of Door Board of Supervisors, and a grant from the Broadband Expansion Grant Program awarded by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
